Forklift trucks are extremely big and powerful pieces of industrial machines. In order for them to operate efficiently and smoothly, hundreds of different parts go into the manufacturing method. A lot of components must be replaced regularly due to damages and breakages.
Forklifts are really versatile machines. A variety of different accessories can be fitted onto the machines in order to increase their capabilities and expand the tasks they are regularly able to finish. Several of the main different forklift parts and accessories are described below.
Fork Extensions
Blade extensions are made to fit over the forklift's regular forks. These forks are able to be changed completely, or various components can be added to them so the truck can raise a variety of different types of cargo such as rollers, telescopic loads, baskets, amongst others.
Forklift Seals and Bearings
The bearings and seals on the forklift enable the inner workings on the machinery to function optimally and efficiently. Bearings allow two moving components of the equipment to smoothly work together, without any friction. If not fitted correctly, seals and bearings could sometimes wear down or even break and these parts may need to be replaced occasionally. If a bearing is the proper type of bearing used for the machinery and it is fitted correctly, this particular lift truck part can easily outlive the life expectancy of the whole machinery.
Cabs
The cab part of the lift truck truck is the section where the operator sits and controls the entire equipment. Based on the specific unit, the cab can be open or it could have a roof. On a work site, this forklift part typically has a roof to reduce the risk of falling materials and comply with safety measures.
Brake Forklift Components
Forklifts trucks have brakes that are required to be frequently tested in order to ensure they are in good working condition. Often, these components must be replaced because of extended wear or damage.
Tires and Wheels
The lift trucks tires and wheels are the parts most usually damaged. Problems happen because of slashes from uneven and rough floor boards and punctures from sharp things on the floor.
