Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries in 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed clients and thus, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, since the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, as the requirements for new machines to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in numerous new markets. For instance, Genie went into production with articulated booms, light towers, man-lifts, telehandlers and stick booms.
Because of the economic recession in the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to secure a partner who had the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers all over the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the first few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be sold under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their customers. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing exceptional support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
The Bi-Energy and DC equipment provided by Genie provide emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the equipment should be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator together with the benefits of a 48V DC equipment.
As opposed to any of the different types of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are ideal for limited access areas in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These machinery provide the drive speed and supreme traction you require to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
