Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they transport loads. The Rider model however, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to pick up and transport unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the right answer if you are searching for a cheap way of transporting loads from one place to another. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best alternative.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece machinery made particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are really useful pieces of machine in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
