How to Use a Lift truck
Lift trucks are lifting equipment that can transport loads. They are normally used in various industries to transport heavy supplies. They could be found at airports, building supply companies and warehouses. Anybody operating a lift truck should be taught to utilize the equipment cautiously. It is essential to be fully aware of one's environment while driving a forklift. Forklifts are designed to run on gasoline, propane, diesel or batteries. Typical lift trucks are common in various commercial applications and are truly not hard to utilize with correct training. The following steps outline the basics of using a forklift:

1 Familiarize yourself with the levers which would be utilized to maneuver the cargo and to transport the object from one place to another. The levers could be found to the right of the steering wheel.
2 The first lever could move the tines up and down. Pulling the lever towards your body moves the tines up, and pushing the lever away from you moves them down. Forks must be kept near the ground except when unloading or loading.
3 The two other levers work to control the forks movement right and left and to control the blades tilt. The tines are designed to tilt between 15 and 30 degrees. It is recommended that you practice prior to picking up a load. Utilizing the second lever, push it away from your body to tilt the blades forward, and pull it towards you to tilt the blades back.
4 Lever number 4 is utilized to control the side to side movement of the forks from left to right. Just move the lever in the direction of where you would like the forks to move: left to move the tines left, and right in order to move the blades right.
5 Always approach a cargo cautiously. Lower the forks and cautiously drive forward until the tines slide under the load. Next lift the tines several centimeters by pulling the lever towards you. If the cargo is top-heavy, you must tilt the tines backwards a small amount for balance.
6 Safe driving rules include slowly taking corners and honking to warn pedestrians or other personnel that the forklift is approaching. Approach the place where you will be working carefully. Control the levers to maneuver the cargo to where it is going. When the cargo is placed, reverse gears and back away cautiously.
7 A forklift stops the same way as a car. The brake is located to the left of the accelerator. Once stopped, shift the gear into "park."
