Kinds of Aisles
Lift trucks are classified due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn within the aisle. There are some aisle widths to consider with different models.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks can operate in less than 6 feet areas, whilst several will utilize particular guidance systems such as optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel within the aisles. Several different models of VNA trucks consist of Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are popular models in tight retail areas and in several warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks could operate within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Normally these are stand-up models such as Reach Trucks. They are usually utilized in warehouses and storage facilities.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles which are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up units provide padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are designed to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is very big and has an 8" low step height that helps reduce overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The model consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat as well as a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting fatigue.
