Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various kinds of sources that can power forklifts. They can run using gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various uses. There are various facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the equipment has to be refueled.
In order to prevent possible serious injury, certain precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for instance: be certain to wear the appropriate safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the forklift ignition prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
