Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Sunnyvale

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used in order to move supplies and things around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump that raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single individual.

To avoid loosing control while lifting heavy loads, pallet trucks should always be operated carefully. Machine must be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Make sure that the handle can smoothly turn. The pallet should be carefully stacked to guarantee that nothing will fall off during transportation.

To lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever situated on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks can then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks must be in the middle to be able to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift could unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is not safe to push the pallet in front of you as the thrust can cause it to lose control. Take turns slowly and don't try to stop suddenly. Slowly come to a stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
