Reach Truck
In order to keep storage areas tidy and to stock up pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck is available in several types: the straddle reach, stand-up reach and the double-deep reach.
The most basic kind is the stand-up. The truck forks slide underneath the pallet and move it to the appropriate storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This particular kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet in depth.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is similar to the stand-up, is commonly utilized. This version has telescopic forks designed to place the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when one more pallet must go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This particular version is ideal in situations where goods would not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
In most warehouses, there are normally more than one kind of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies utilize various kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to utilize and could make the most of available storage space while increasing productivity.
